EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY:   Flexible (May be scheduled to work up to 40 hours weekly. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and evening/rotating shifts. Group benefits not included)

DUTIESThe incumbent uses hand tools and follows oral and written instructions and performs the duties assigned. Conditions bowling lane surfaces, floors, walls, and ceilings, apply paint, varnish or similar coatings with brush or spray gun. Cleans stoppages in plumbing, replaces washers in faucets. Replaces burned-out fuses and light bulbs; replaces extension cords and electrical fixtures. Makes minor corrective adjustments to bowling center machinery as necessary and performs periodic preventative maintenance on automatic handling equipment. Sweeps, dusts, and cleans bowling center, collects and removes trash and maintains all areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Maintains stock levels and records spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Advises bowling facility management of unusual maintenance problems. Maintains grounds around building. May be required to work behind control counter and/or pro shop operating cash register in absence of sales clerk. Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:  High school graduate preferred. Must be able to follow work outlines in Brunswick and AMF preventive maintenance manuals. Experience in bowling alley/center desired.


PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONSRequires standing, walking, bending and lifting light and medium weight objects. Works indoors in area adequately heated and lighted. Is exposed to dirt, dust, paint fumes and possibility of cuts, bruises and burns. Works outdoors intermittently in maintaining grounds.
