POSITION: Recreation Aid/NF-0189-01 SALARY: $10.79 - 11.00/ PH
EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Flexible (May be scheduled to work up to 40 hours weekly, May be required to work weekends, holidays, and evenings. No Group Benefits Included)

DUTIES: Purpose of this position is to provide assistance where needed in the daily operation of the center. Work is assigned on an “as needed basis” and varies depending on the requirement of the department or facility. Perform a wide variety of simple repetitive duties such as: answers telephone and patrons questions regarding functions of the facility assigned. May be responsible for counter control operations, including operation of cash register and maintenance of daily cash control records, sales of equipment, instructional classes, guest passes, memberships and resale items as required by the facility. Verify the identification of all persons entering the facility. Patrol both inside and outside, circulate among the patrons to maintain good order and to prevent damage to the facility and its equipment. Issues recreational equipment, uniforms and athletic equipment to authorized patrons ensuring that checkout slips are completed on all equipment used and inspect items returned for damage before storing. Enforce safety rules and regulations at the facility and assists in maintaining the assigned area in good condition. Keep all recreational equipment and spaces in neat and orderly fashion (dust, vacuum, mop, empty trash cans, and ensure proper storage). Assist in setting up appropriate required to operate a washer and dryer, or use lawn and garden tools. May be responsible for locker rentals, and collecting fees. Perform other related duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work usually indoors and may or may not be air conditioned or heated. Constant standing, walking, bending, stooping and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer high school graduate with an interest in the areas of recreation. Should be responsible and able to follow written or oral instructions. Must have a neat appearance and a pleasing personality with the capacity for working effectively with all patrons. Working knowledge operating a cash register and maintaining cash flow is desired. May be required to qualify in CPR and First Aid.
