LOCATION OF POSITION:  Morale Welfare Recreation (MWR) Department, Portside Club, NAS Pensacola FL

POSITION:  Duty Host/NF-1101-01                                             SALARY RANGE:  $9.50/PH

 

EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Flexible (May be scheduled to work 40 hours weekly. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and evening/rotating shifts. Group benefits not included.)

DUTIES: Provide general information and answers patron questions in a pleasant and tactful fashion. Verifies the identification of all individuals entering the facility or event. Patrols the facility and adjacent grounds, circulating among patrons and guests to maintain good order and to prevent damage to the facility or its equipment. Advises patron when they are in violation of infractions of the facility rules or regulations. Assist as necessary in patron control or apprehension when appropriate. In some cases may tactfully remove offenders from the facility, using force as necessary. May call NAS Pensacola Security for assistance as required. Ensures that authorized patrons and guests use the assigned areas as applicable. Checks the facility for security, safety of fire hazards. Reports fires or fire hazards and may use fire extinguishers to put out small fires. Performs first aid in the event of an accident and calls the medical facility for assistance when necessary. Assures that all fire exits are functional during hours of operation and properly secured at the close of business. Maintains all necessary logs. Relieves other Host Personnel as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned as they pertains to the duties of this position.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:   Incumbent must have 1 year experience in crowd control. Incumbent must have working knowledge of fire/emergency procedures. Incumbent must have knowledge of Navy and MWR policies and procedures pertaining to club operations, crowd control and alcohol policies.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Duties are performed in a club environment. Duties will involve all areas of the complex. Incumbent’s work environment includes a low light, loud noise, smoking environment. Everyday risks and discomforts are involved in day-to-day operations. Work will require prolonged hours of standing and walking in a high energy environment. Administrative duties are performed in both an office and club environment.

 

NOTE:  As a condition of employment, selectee(s) will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer within the first 60 days of employment. This is the DOD standard method of payment of personnel. Employees will be subject to administrative action for failure to enroll unless a waiver has been obtained.
