POSITION: Lead Greenskeeper/NL-5001-06 SALARY: $20.62 – 24.06/PH
EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Full Time (May be scheduled to work 35-40 hours weekly. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and evening/rotating shifts. Eligible for ALL group benefits.)

DUTIES: By direction of the Golf course Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent, leads an assigned crew in the performance of maintenance work projects on the golf course. Works along with other employees setting the pace, demonstrates proper work methods, and assigns tasks to crew members. Personnel of the work crew led may include: Greenskeeper NA-5003-04, Tractor Operator NA 5705-06, Greenskeeper NA-5003-05, Temp. Summer Help and Federal Prison Inmates. Incumbent drives the bus to transport Federal Prison System inmates from Saufley Camp and return trip on a daily basis. Performs duties of Greenskeeper NA-5003-06.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have experience using edger, trimmer, sand raking machine, hand mower and other tools. Must have experience operating mowing equipment. Must be able to lay sod, aerate lawns, prune, and trim trees and shrubs. Must be able to follow detailed instructions and lift heavy loads. The incumbent must have previously demonstrated leadership abilities; must be familiar with landscaping techniques.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works outdoors in mildly inclement weather, on wet, slippery, even and uneven surfaces. Incumbent is subject to machinery noise, overhead aircraft noise, and bright sunlight. Risk of being struck by errant golf ball, and overhanging branches. Exposed to exhaust fumes and jostling around from movement of equipment over terrain. There is some chance of minor injuries such as bruises, cuts, and scrapes. Lift and carry 50 lb bags of seed and/or fertilizer. Walks, stoops, bends, lifts & pulls equipment.
NOTE: As a condition of employment, selectee(s) will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer within the first 60 days of employment. This is the DOD standard method of payment of personnel. Employees will be subject to administrative action for failure to enroll unless a waiver has been obtained. Must meet requirements for local & national background check investigations (NACI). Drug testing is a requirement for positions deemed a Test Designated Position (TDP).
