POSITION: Food and Beverage Operations Manager/NF-1101-03 SALARY: $21.25- $23.25/ PH
EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Full Time (Scheduled to work 35-40 hours weekly. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts. Eligible for ALL group benefits.)
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Applications will be accepted from current MWR/CYP employees aboard Corry Station and NAS Pensacola.
DUTIES The incumbent supervises the daily food, beverage and administrative functions, insuring that all areas are manned, operational, and that all health, sanitation, and safety regulations or requirements are enforced. Insures that food and beverage regulations, cost and portion controls are followed. Conducts supervisory review of on-site programs and activities; identifies problems or deficiencies related to the administration of established catering and food/beverage services and recommends appropriate, corrective measures; works within budget limitations and recommends required activities; assists in developing the overall financial plan of the establishment. Reviews suggestions or complaints from the other employees. Attempts to resolve issues before they are brought to the attention of the manager. Coordinates work between the various food and beverage functions, i.e., operational, catered, daily, long term. Establishes effective internal communication control. Oversees and coordinates matters concerning and/or involving personnel schedules, procurement and functions. Directs the work of employees under their direct supervision. Supports the dining, kitchen, and hostess areas during peak periods to provide guidance and assistance to staff. Checks timecards for accuracy and possible misuse. Recommends promotions, and disciplinary actions as required. Makes recommendations and completes employee evaluations for signature. Assist with the oversight of payroll and personnel functions. Assists in the reviewing, analyzing and evaluating the financial aspects of the establishment. Assists the manager with the preparation of the annual budget.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is principally active and requires some physical exertion involve in the frequent physical oversight of activities, facilities, building, and operations. The work involves long periods of standing, bending, and walking. Physical demands of extended work hours are highly possible. Incumbent will work primarily indoors in an office and kitchen environment and will be exposed to possible scrapes, burns and cuts.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Navy club management procedures and genera business practices related to the operational management of food and beverage programs and the effective utilization of club facilities and equipment. Skills in developing directives, instructions, and procedures concerning the administration of Cubi and utilization of resources; repairs and maintenance of facility and equipment and coordinating the scheduling or implementing the repairs according to safety sanitation MWR/Navy regulations. Knowledge of Navy Clubs cost and funding control procedures, basic accounting and financial knowledge; Skill in the maintenance and control of expenditures to endure limitations are observed. Must possess a working knowledge of computer operations and have some experience in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and data base applications.
