POSITION: Recreation Assistant (Community Recreation/ITT)/NF-0189-02 SALARY: $ 15.00 -17.00/ PH
EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Full Time (Scheduled to work 40 hours weekly. May be required to work weekends and holidays. Eligible for ALL group benefits.)

DUTIES: Responsible for change fund while working in the Ticket Sales office. Provides authorized patrons, (military and DOD civilian employees), discount tickets (via cash, credit card, check transactions) to a variety of events, entertainment, attractions/theme parks. This large variety of tickets requires a thorough knowledge of prices, discounts offered, seasonal operations and the like. Responsible for this large inventory of tickets in ITT Ticket Sales office when on required shift for ticket sales, plus receipts received throughout scheduled shift. Provides customers tickets through TICKETMASTER, computerized ticket selection; one of five in the Pensacola area. TICKETMASTER system requires continuous updating of events for patrons, additions, cancellations, knowledge of seating charts and prices. Provides refunds for TICKETMASTER as required. Mails cash cards weekly as required. Submits TICKETMASTER daily Commission Report to MWR Accounting Department for payment of invoices. Performs nightly (end of shift) Operating Sales Report (on computer) for ticket accountability to TICKETMASTER. Sells Military Travel Guides, Military RV and Camping guides, U.S. Military Installation Road Maps, MWR discount food coupon books, and other resale items as authorized. Sells individual and family season pool passes, schedules and collects monies for pool parties and provides pool policies and regulations to patrons. Answers numerous telephone inquiries and provides information on a wide variety of recreational activities, cultural events, attractions/theme parks and all MWR activities. Provides service to all rates/ranks of military personnel (active duty, reservists, and retirees) and their dependents and DOD civilian employees and their dependents. Upon request, furnishes patron discount cards/coupons to a variety of attractions (free of charge); provides patrons, upon request, reference materials throughout the United States. Provides patron appropriate discount for some tickets/items (upon presentation of Civilian Welfare and Recreation Association (CWRA) discount coupon). Assists with registration of patrons for courses of instruction (Shotokan Karate, PADI Scuba diving) and other events as required. Assists with registration of patron for ITT sponsored trips/tours Prepares Daily Activity Record (DAR) at end of shift. Reconciles monies collected to receipts written for daily sales, deposits receipts and required reports (Check Log, Coupon Book Sales Sheet, TICKETMASTER Commission Report, CWRA coupons) to MWR night depository. Requests brochures and required information Departments of Tourism, Chambers of Commerce, attractions/theme parks and hotel properties for patron use. Ensures brochure racks are adequately maintained and updated. Receives ITT office mail and properly records/files for office or patrons use. Issues brochures and other material offered by ITT to MWR Marketing and MWR Project Player Program coordinator for station indoctrination. Reports suggestions and/or discrepancies by patrons to ITT manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work may be performed indoors or outdoors normally under favorable weather conditions. Physical exertion is minimal. Position requires a constant vigilance to ensure maximum safety of personnel in and around the work area and to ensure proper utilization of equipment.
NOTE: As a condition of employment, selectee(s) will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer within the first 60 days of employment. This is the DOD standard method of payment of personnel. Employees will be subject to administrative action for failure to enroll unless a waiver has been obtained. Must meet requirements for local & national background check investigations (NACI). Drug testing is a requirement for positions deemed a Test Designated Position (TDP).
